Chang-Fang Chiu, M.D., Ph.D., is currently the Director of the Cancer Center at China Medical University Hospital. He completed his training at the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA. Dr. Chiu possesses extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various malignant tumors and hematological diseases. He established a patient-centered, multidisciplinary team approach to care, which is applied to over twenty major cancer types. He also built a comprehensive hematopoietic stem cell transplantation care system, dedicated to providing patients with high-quality medical care.

Li-Yuan Bai

Li-Yuan Bai, M.D., Ph.D., is the director of Division of Hematology and Oncology, and the deputy director of Clinical Trial Center at China Medical University Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan. The interest fields of professor Bai include cancer of gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, biliary tract, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, and neuroendocrine tumor. He has participated many international clinical trials in relevant fields and is the leading principle investigator in three PI-initiated, multicenter clinical trials. Prof. Bai is also active in first-in-human and early phase clinical trials, with the engagement of 34 first-in-human or phase I trials between 2014 to 2022.

He had received training courses of robotic-assisted surgery for prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy for kidney tumors at the Center for Advanced Robotic Surgery at the Ohio State University Medical Center in the United States. Dr. Hsien-Te Chen is the Director of the Orthopedic Department and Spine Center at China Medical University Hospital. He holds multiple leadership roles, including board member of the Taiwan Orthopedic Association and Executive Director of the Taiwan Spine Society. Dr. Chen specializes in spinal surgeries, particularly scoliosis correction, spinal degeneration, trauma, tumors, and minimally invasive spine surgery. He is also experienced in stem cell therapy and has received the 14th National Innovation Award for his work on a spinal fusion simulation system. Over the past five years, he has published 36 SCI-indexed papers in the field of spine surgery.

Horng-Ren Yang

Shih-Peng Yeh

Dr. Su-Peng Yeh served as the Secretary-General of the Taiwanese Society of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and has been an Executive Director of the Society since 2010. He is currently the Vice Superintendent of the Department of Internal Medicine at our hospital. Dr. Yeh specializes in hematopoietic stem cell (bone marrow) transplantation, with over 100 successful transplant cases under his belt. He is also proficient in various cancer chemotherapies and transfusion medicine. In 2006, Dr. Yeh spent a year at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, focusing his research on gene therapy for breast cancer. Furthermore, Dr. Yeh actively participates in numerous clinical trials for hematologic malignancies and rare blood disorders. He is a key member of the Steering Committee for several of these trials and is the physician with the most extensive experience in CAR-T cell therapy at our hospital.

Doctor Wu-Chou Lin is an authority voice in different types of endoscope and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, with outstanding performance in treatment of gynecology cancer and pelvis reconstruction. Doctor Lin past experiences include President of Taiwan Association for Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Minimally invasive surgery for gynecology cancer was previously thought to be impossible but with breakthroughs in technology (especially in entometrium cancer procedures) endoscopic procedures have been proven to be just as affective as traditional operating procedures. Ke-Wei Chen

Dr Ke-Wei Chen was selected as a teaching physician in this hospital and specializes in cardiac catheterization for a variety of cardiovascular diseases, particularly coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction. From 2017 to Japan's famous cardiovascular center Kokura Memorial Hospital to study, including endovascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT) and other cardiac catheterization and complex coronary intervention. Intravascular imaging such as IVUS or OCT with angiography can provide more accurate diagnosis of coronary artery disease, understand atherosclerotic plaque characteristics and guide stent selection and placement to reduce complications. In patients with chronic kidney disease, IVUS-guided PCI reduces the amount of developer needed to protect renal function. Dr. Chen is also good at general cardiac ultrasound, interventional esophageal ultrasound and pressure ultrasound to diagnose a variety of heart valve diseases and ischemic heart disease. He is currently involved in various cardiovascular interventions including peripheral vascular therapy, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, left atrial appendage plug placement, and pulmonary embolism catheter thrombolysis.

Currently, Dr. Kuan-Cheng Chang is serving as the Director of Cardiovascular Medicine and a Professor of Medicine at the esteemed China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan. Throughout his illustrious career, he has successfully performed over 2,500 interventional procedures aimed at treating an array of conditions, from various arrhythmias to heart failure. These procedures have not only solidified his standing in the field but also contributed to improved patient outcomes. Moreover, Dr. Chang is a prolific contributor to the scientific community. He has published more than 150 scientific research papers, the majority of which are housed in high-ranking journals. These include PNAS, JACC imaging, Heart, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Canadian Journal of Cardiology, International Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, Journal of American Heart association, Scientific Reports, Aging Cell, and Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology. In recent times, Dr. Chang has devoted himself to the treatment of complex arrhythmias using an innovative technique known as high-density 3D mapping. His aim with this technique is to offer state-of-the-art management for patients with arrhythmias, advancing the standard of care in this critical area of medicine.
