Since its inception, the Radiation Oncology Division has joined the cancer treatment team. With the development of the hospital, great progress has been made in services, teaching, and research, which is recognized by relevant departments. In recent years, the average daily number of people served by the division has reached more than 160, coming out top in Taiwan. In 2008, the Cancer Center of the hospital was ranked grade A, the highest level in the first cancer diagnosis and treatment certification as evaluated by the Bureau of Health Promotion. Over the past years, it has passed a variety of assessments.    

 

As a unit of radiation use, the division has spared no effort to  focus on medical quality and radiation safety, assisting relevant societies and competent authorities in organizing a number of seminars and workshops, for which it has won several awards from the Atomic Energy Commission over the years.

 

The division is responsible for the teaching task and provides internship and probation programs for the Department of Medicine, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Department of Radiologic Technology and other units. There are currently six full-time staff members who hold Education Ministry-approved teacher qualifications in the division, who are among the best in the nation.

 

With the increase of staff members, the research results are becoming more and more fruitful. In 2010, the hospital got a grant for the Cancer Research Center of Excellence program from the Department of Health, with the participation of many doctors from the division. Currently, there are several SCI scientific papers published every year.
 

Current clinical studies include:
