China Medical University Hospital's (CMUH) Department of Anesthesiology has a remarkable growth and excellent performance in various examinations and high-risk anesthesia.

 

 

For painless gastrointestinal endoscopy in adult health examination, the number of patients undergoing anesthesia was 4617 people in 2012, 5323 in 2013, 5799 in 2014, 7053 in 2015, and 7186 in 2016. Both patients' safety and high quality anesthesia are taken into account when the number of people is increasing.
 

Painless gastrointestinal endoscopy in the Gastroenterology Division outpatients and inpatients also grew from 1222 people in 2012 to 3233 in 2016. Despite many elderly and severe cases, painless examinations can be successfully performed with the care of the anesthesiologist.

 

 

In the anesthesia for bariatric surgery, the number rose from 152 people in 2012 to 242 in 2015, and after the opening of an international body center, the figure surged to 421 in 2016.  Anesthesia for morbidly obese patients has been at considerable risk, but with the joint efforts of the department staff, the task is completed with a very low rate of complications.
